no.. banks will pay for the CSC tuition once you are hired.

the answer is helpful. The extent of help varies depending on your individual situation.

I used to work in bank in Canada, it is a very busy.. low pay job here.. however, to get in for a start help you to set a foot in financial industry though...CSC is not a major concern.. helpful.. but sharpen up English is very important.. so you can serve both western people and Chinese clients alike

i just want to get a job in a bank to start. i know the bank will cover the fee of the exam of CSC if i am an employee. but now the problem is that first i need in. that is why i want to pay by myself to pass the exam. yes, English is a big problem.I have sent some resume for"customer service representative", but no reply. maybe English is the reason because the position only require the high school diploma..so i think may i can apply for "financial advisor" after i get the licence.is it a right way to go? or any other good advice?

Honestly, if English is a big problem, the best approach is to work really hard on it, face it and deal with it. It is a pain but once you get over it, more doors are open to you; if you do nothing with it then it will be your forever pain ...

I think my English is ok for communications, just not as good as the natives. but how could i get the chance of working in a bank here? is it necessary to go to univercity again? if it had any chance, i perfer to work first.

Without knowing too much background information...if I were you, I will drive into each branch of the bank, talk to branch manager directly and tell them I desire to work for them and why I might be the good candidate. Leave my resume with them, at the same time, studying CFP or other designations as appropriate.

is it possible to speak directly to the branch manager? and i think the employment decision should be made the human resource department in the heading branch.and about the CFP &CSC, is there any difference?
-seaside123(happy2008);
2008-9-6{48}(#112@52)
Good question. correct me if I am wrong, I think sometimes for teller or personal banker job, bigger branch manager has hiring authority.If you have CFP, you can apply for personal banker job, CSC is more general than CFP.
All in all, it depends on your previous background and what type of job you want to get in Bank. It's no hurt to just give it a try anyway.
BTW, if you just came to Canada, it is helpful to go out and talk to people, letting other people know you and obtaining useful information and resources as well.

yes, you are right. trying is much better than waiting. after i think it over for some time, i think personal banking job is the easiest way to get in the bankif you don't want to get any degree in Canada. so banker teller, financial adviser maybe the beginning.

When you talked to them, what did they say? Did you ask their feedback on either the approach you were looking for job or your resume or your English?BTW, never give up, never give in. Good luck!!
-buickregal(Sharpness);
2008-9-7{46}(#140@52)
i never talk to them. i just send my resume directly through the internet of every bank. they give me feedback through email. is there any other way to send resume? anyway, i will keep trying.

then why not drive in and talk. If it won't work, ask why. Prepare some questions to ask, pick one small to medium size branch as pilot first.In terms of communication effectiveness, talking face-to-face is the best, as you will get feedback right away, email is the worst, phone call is in the middle.

yes, i know. but i think the decision should be mad by the human resource department. but they should not work in the ordinary branch. anyway, i will try what you said. thank you very much!

i have done almost all of the business in the bank in China. so you think it is unnecessary for me to continue a MBA or master etc if i just want to get an ordinary salary job?
-seaside123(happy2008);
2008-9-6(#113@52)
It depends on your target, if you just want to star working here even with an entry level work relating to your professinal, I do not think MBA or mater degree is necessary.Anyway, to the employer, a employee's professinal working experience is much more important. Try your best to look for a job, part-time, contract, whatever, you just need to get canadian working experience. Good luck!
