Install hardwood floor where the last row of plank is narrower?

isn't that what baseboard is for, to cover the few mm of difference from using a mere mitre saw over a table saw?

When you have a 5 inch wide hardwood and you are 2 inch too wide, baseboard isn't going to help you.

【using a mere mitre saw】 over a table saw is not going to create a 【2 inch】gap, considering an average hardwood board of only 5-6'。

i'm talking the width of the hardwood. not the length

sure, use a mitre saw to cut along the length ... difference would be in the mm range when compare to using a table saw.

I see what you meant. The widest cut for a mitre is 24inch (I think). x2=48inch. You still would face restriction that your last row of plank you cannot use wood that are longer than 48inch long.

hmm, that's a good point ... noted ... thanks.

Anyway, another example is I want to create a cabinet where you cannot hide the deficiency.
