I just have a new GSW PV50 Gallon tank installed (to replace an old GSW). Excellent service. The new tank is quieter, with a brass drain plug, etc.

I checked HD as well. Only one power vent model: GE 50 Gallon. $940 plus around $270 install fee (may be even higher; depends on contractor, who will check your home first).

Pmed. Only recommended if you have some hand on skills. Otherwise, it would be easier to rent, because water tank can have 10- 20 yrs life time, and most of contractors only warrant one year labour.

"万一5年以后炉子坏了" has nothing to do with who installed it. The parts warranty is provided by the manufacturer. You can ask any one to fix it for you (you need to pay the labour anyway).

谢谢lz发帖,给大家多一种选择，12年warranty parts CV(or direct vent) gas water heater, 761（GE 60 gallon or 50 gallon） + 212 = 961 + 75 = 1136 (DE tank return fee) vs 华人公司提供的 50 gallon CV gas water heater 800 元。就是能有12 年 extend labor warranty from homedepot vs 华人公司 1 年的labor warranty.

Ask for invoice of their water tank they bought, I believe the contractor will only warrant anything the supplier provided. Or you buy it your self in order to save some money.

Water tank doesn't has 压力阀, or anything similar. Your hot water and the cold water pipes are connected indirectly by the tank. It's the tap water pressure that send the hot water up.
