I agree with your suggestion. New Concept English is the best material for Chinese Students. But I think anyone who really want to master English well should work hard and at best recite the fourth book of New Concept English.

不觉得备课文有用。写作的关键是有人(最好是Native Speaker ) 给你改，才能提高，要不写来写去还是Chenglish ( Chinese English ).

The way how I practised my writing skill before.Try to find a good article, read it once, put the article aside, put all the content together using your own words, compare the original one and the one you just wrote.
