我最烦的就是那些我一开始就报上expectation,而且说是bottom line。对方一副很理解的样子,interview了n round,最后给了我个数目低于expectation。我碰到过2次了,我拂袖而去:you are wasting my time。这帮hr什么心态?!

Youmaybe wrong. You know that HR normally doesn’t really have much involvement in deterring contractors’ hourly rate, don't you? It often depends on the budget for a project and the hiring manager often has final say.

Thanks again. I know it's usually a hiring manager decision based on budget -- but market plays a role as well. Do hiring mangers turn to HR for market info -- e.g. rate survey data for each type of positions -- as a range guideline in determine rates?

Nice article. Two comments: 1. while target bonus is important, make sure you ask average actual payout % in the past years so that you know if they actually pay and how much %. 2. many companies check your last salary through reference check.

这个问题我看到你单独开了帖子问,别人的回答也很好。从无到有的编造是很危险的,你是否在工作状态这个很可能是会在背景调查的时候查的,不是太妥当。另外,我看到你在那个帖子里说你提供的数字x是bottom line,你期望的是y。我感觉这不太现实,你想啊,就像卖东西一样,你开价x,人家说太低了给你y吧,可能性太低了吧?除非你的价格太低了人家都不好意思take advantage of you了。
想问LZ个问题,在第一轮interview后,一般HR会知会下落选者吗,还是就给人凉在那.NND,刚完一家,公司也是世界级的,说early this week会通知,没收到就在星期三给她打.但打了留言后又不回复,算怎么回事!不行就说声,俺们也不是受不了打击的人,大不了在原来的窝上再呆着呗.
