count down. count down the time when you cast out your lure. as long as you reach the deepest column fo the water anf without catch weed. that should be your best depth for catching fish.

for sure, overcast day is the best day.for walleye, over cast day is the best day for fishing them. for extreme weather condition, say coldfront day, you need to change your presentation to vertical jigging style. bucktail will be the number one lure.if fish are sluggish, you need more and longer pause during your retrieve.
