seems to me that you kinda misunderstand the defination of "成功" from LZ's point of view.LZ said "北美继续发展是符合我自己及很大一部分人的最大利益", which means he's already overcome "不利的天时,地利', and achieved his "成功" !
Thanks for victorzhou's thought, and all best to you!

I am not quite sure that LZ thinks he's already overcome "不利的天时,地利', and achieved his "成功" !. In my opinion, he would most likely agree that there is still a long way to go...

How many He Guo Yuans in Canada? Chances are most immigrants will end up like those people from Hong Kong and Tai Wan 30 years ago. If this is the life you want, I have nothing to say

Bill Gates, for example, not only ...donates his money to the Gates Foundation, but also interested in questing American's
education system. As I heard he has been focusing on the foundation to help human to fight with disease by investing lots of
money in research... That's the role model. If I'm rich, I would help poor kids in China get better education.. I would not boher
thinking about 'fighting' for a higher position in China.

Many countries did open visa to chinese. And they welcomed chinese to invest and work. Such as Vietnam, east europe, Africa, you can work or run bbusiness. But why chinese don't want to go there? In your term, "其他国家" actually mean the developed countries in NA and West Europe.
Even most of those developed countries opened tourist visa to chinese, such as Europe, Japan. Canada will join soon.
They just don't allow chinese to work there, which happens to be what chinese really want.
From tourism point of view, chinese passport will do enough.

Canada cannot give you enough money, but it will give you everything else needed for retired person. With your mood, you'd better go back to china for your fortune as soon as possible.Every minute in canada will be a waste of your time.

I think he is a typical example of TYPE-3 in my article. This the version from his own mouth. It needs more background check why he left "多伦多大学物理计算服务中心主任", and "北京中关村数据中心的副总裁兼CEO" and "北京首信股份有限公司副总裁" and soon he went back to toronto. On neither of these jobs he stayed long.

I wouldn’t consider all of the first type of HaiGui “失败”, in fact, most of the haiguis I admire might fall into this category,They go back to China in their mid-30 to play a much bigger role, and might stay there for the rest of their careers, maybe at the end they will still return to NA for retirement, but by then they just say one word “I have no regret of my life”, they are 田溯宁,唐骏, and many many…

in two years, canadian baby boomers will start retiring. Now they are aroung 40's to 60's, and occupy the important position in company. in canada there are also a lot of chance to move up.

True, Host of callin program is very hostile to china. One poll shows that china is #3 or #4 in the American hostile list. Just behind Iran, North Korea.

I knew it better only after I moved to US. I'm open to come back. But it's tiny difference between canada and us for all these good things. In my state, I did not feel much of those bad discriminications. And there're more job opportunities in US.

which State are you in? I'm in Seattle and I feel far less discriminications here than in Vancouver. It really depends on personal experience. It's safer and peaceful here, less breakins...
West coast is a better place for Chinese, I guess.

you have to consider the fact that Canada's GNI per capita is almost 18 times larger than Chinese...when China's GNI per capita reaches 20k to 30k, all the above benefits you mentioned will be available in ChinaChina is leaping forward, Canada is staying put
