The MSRP declines in EVs over the course of 2023, driven primarily by Tesla, have driven the fair market value of our EVs lower as compared to last year, such that a salvage creates a larger loss and, therefore, greater burden...
Hertz expects to take a loss of about $245 million due to depreciation on the EVs, an average of about $12,250, per vehicle the company said in an SEC filing.

按照现在的电池技术和自动驾驶技术,电动车普及的门槛远远没有达到。如果技术没有突破的话,基本电动车的未来就是式微。现在都是政府强制,违反了市场规律,不会走的远。

Most of their customers rent cars for business purpose, i.e. the money is not from their own pockets. Naturally they will love to try something fancy and cool, like EVs.

前段时间有客户来公司开会,租了Tesla。公司停车场有几个充电桩,但都有车在用。好不容易联系了一个同事,把车挪走,让他们充电。要不然会后的晚餐都去不了。一般租车都是短期,以方便,安全为主。没人会在意fancy 或 节省油费。。。
