2. if interviewer is still asking for salary expectation, u should say the range like between $45k - $55 based on ur experience & ur age, but remember, don't say too low, instead u should say something higher expectation, which shows ur confidence for this job.

My personal experience, never give out the fixed number. Let them speak first.Once I spent more than 30min talking with the HR guy about the salary. Never be hamble!when you negotiate salary, you need to take the position and the employer into consideration. I think the salary around 55,000 is good for normal s/w developer.
