let's make it clear. You have 2 computers at home. One is server (win2000), the other is client(win98). The server is working ok, but the client is not working. right?You said you could connect with the sympatico server? how do you know?

使用的是sympatico的access manager啊，效验用户之类的，成功后会自动进到IE中，右下角的连接图标都出来了啊

if you cannot ping, it has nothing to do with the DNS. It seems you are not connected with Sympatico.

:) Please don't. Click on the little icon whick makes you think you are connected and see what it says. It should say "connected to the Sympatico"

这不明明就是域名解析有问题嘛“unknown host”。nslookup www.yahoo.com还有ipconfig /all一把看看？

简单地说，就是现在用的dns server是你自己这台机，而不是SYMPATICO的。具体的，等MCSE们来告诉你吧，我怕我说不清楚。
