Job Specifications:
o Manage team of 2 individuals for daily profit and loss production, analysis, and reconciliation for firm trading desks
o Oversee daily control of trading activity and security valuations
o Daily interaction and primary support for front office ad hoc requests
o Manage production of daily reporting and analysis for senior management
o Support and control various firm proprietary strategies and new business initiatives
o Provide monthly and quarterly analytical commentary for senior management review
o Administer the preparation, analysis, and presentation of divisional results and forecasts to senior front office and back office management
o Supervise and own monthly reconciliation of general ledger inventory and revenue balances
o Implementation and validation of proper provisioning and fair value levels in accordance with FASB standards
o Coordination of Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance including review of operating effectiveness testing and control improvements
o Direct liaison for external regulators and auditors
o Maintain relationships with various support departments including Risk Management, Operations, Financial Accounting, New Business, Internal Audit, IT, and Legal and Compliance
o Exposure to domestic and international equities and fixed income products, foreign exchange, listed derivatives, exchange traded funds, swaps, stock loan/borrow, and various arbitrage strategies
o Global collaboration with regional counterparts in New York, Raleigh, London, Zurich, Singapore, and Pune for revenue and balance sheet reporting and reconciliation
o Administrative management responsibilities include expense management, allocations, budgeting, compensation reviews, performance appraisals, promotion assessment, objective setting, and career development
Essential Requirements:
o Bachelors degree in a business concentration
o 5-7 years experience in a finance or accounting function, control experience a plus
o 3-5 years in managing finance or accounting functions
o Proven capacity to drive change
o Established proficiency in streamlining and improving processes
o Solid analytical skills
o Strong communication skills
o Superior multi-tasking abilities
o Prominent leadership skills
o Substantial problem solving and conflict handling skills
o Very strong Excel skills
