In terms of future career:
1. I believe you have no problem in landing a new job in Canadian financial institutions although it's now the year end and everything slows down. If you are member of Toronto CFA Society, you may find some job postings and contacting info of job agents in the field.
2. You may also want to take a look at Asian markets. Economies over there are not as desperate as in NA, some sectors are actually expanding slowly. You may try SouthChinaMoringPost's career website (http://www.classifiedpost.com/jshome_landings.php) for postings.
3. It's indeed a good time to do MBA now. If you haven't written your GMAT yet, perhaps you could only catch up the last round application deadline of those top programs in US or Europe, which normally send out most of the offers by round two. However, you should have no problem catching up the deadline of Ivey or Rotman.
