These goods must be used and must be more than 6 months old to qualify. Goods that are new or of less than 6 months old will be subject to import duty + GST + PST.
When you arrived in Canada. Customs will process your immigration paper and stamped the GOODS TO FOLLOW list. (IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE LIST IS STAMPED AT TIME OF LANDING OR THE LIST WILL BE VOID)
When the shipment arrives in Canada. The shipping company or the forwarder will send you a manifest. You will need to see what port it will be clearing at (495 = Toronto 1 Front st Toronto)
497 = Airport 480= brampton etc) You will have to go in person with your landing paper and the goods to follow list to the port and see the officer at the counter and he will process it for you.
It may be a good idea to call a customs broker to go with you. (NOT A FREIGHT FORWARDER) as he suppose to meet you a day ahead to make sure and ask any questions that are unclear in order to make the event as trouble free as possible. If the broker ask you to just come. DO NOT use him. If the officer is satisfied with all the questions he asked and feel he does not want ot inspect the goods. It will be cleared right there . You can then make arrnagement with the broker or the forarder to have the goods deliver to you. If the officer decides to inspect the goods. You will be paying customs exam fee and maybe stroage. It is VERY important that you states what is in the shipment. If you have extra items that you did not put on the list. Put them on a piece of paper and make sure you report them to the officer at the counter. If you still unclear. You can call me at my office at 416 645-0150 Good Luck更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
