Waterloo has been over-valued in the same way as IT was. It is the time
to go back to the basic.If a university is famous for something apart from teaching and research, the value should be questioned. This is my main point
on the Waterloo. If Waterloo is credited as top one in Canada, the
high education in Canada will be mislead.
MIT, Standford are different from any university in Canada in many ways.

This is a very meanless discussion since you are not a turning winner yourself. A lot of top engineers are from none of those big names anyway.As "It is in no way the dearest darling in NA IT industry." --- Yes, Waterloo is a darling of IT industry. For a few years, MS intended to hire the whole class of waterloo CS graduates, not from any other university. There must be a reason.

First I am not waterloo graduate.Second, IT industry is using a huge amount of MS products. A darling of MS can well be qualified as a darling of IT.
third I am not saying that you have to be a turing winner to make comments. It is just meaningless listing those stuff to show which schools are better unless youself benefit from the education.
As for University of Waterloo, you concern too much. I believe the school administrators can see much better than a half educated outsider. You can rest now.

Being admitted to U of T doesn't guarantee graduate with good standing. Many high schools do inflate marks.
