Tools are relatively inexpensive, affordable and accessible in North America. Hobby is never about ROI. It’s more of an opportunity to do what you want.

He uses state of the art vacuum. Festool vacuum is very good. It has HEPA filter and took out 99%+ of the dust. That vacuum is very expensive.

He is not wrong.You can’t avoid dust in woodworking. There is only so much a Festool HEPA can do. Other equipments are not HEPA certified so dust can still escape somehow. But 谋害全家健康就有点夸大了。到了这种程度也只有大量生产才能造成，或是家人本来就有健康问题，比如对灰尘敏感。

我最满意的是自己改装的2-stage集尘器。Festool CT只给sander用。我试了各种方法尽量利用现有的dust collector/shop vac给打磨机。不满意。
1.调节suction power
2. 低噪音
就这两点，Festool CT赢了几条街。其它的应用，dust collector/shop vac with cyclone比Festool CT好。Festool就一个自己的ecosystem。如果你只用Festool，会很难转到其它牌子。One of the best tool integration.
