bonnechance(AC/DC)

1. passing PMP is definitely an asset, it's a nice to have , but not must to have thing. since we are preparing PMP, this is the first step? what else can we do to make it happen?

guys, if you want to move toward PM, what would you do? any ideas
my thoughts:
1. take coureses and pass pmp
2. try out various projects (maybe across industry) to gain more PM experience
3. improve communication skills(english, listening, meeting organization, negotiation etc.)
4. when it 's the time, try some Junior PM positions first

just my 2 cents, any one else? suggestion?
or anyo ne already in this position, share some experience?

the 36 contact hours is true, my take on that is to enroll Fundamentals of PM at Ryerson Univ Countinuing Education, it has 42 hrs and covers most of topics sujects -bonnechance(AC/DC); 2003-1-22 {92} (#993321@0)
i've attended this course already, you may jump in if ryerson permits, cost 459, every sat.

completion of this course won't bring you a certificate, but it's a starting point. the reason i took it is only to satisfy PMP requisite. take a look at www.ryerson.ca/ce and check out pm courses -bonnechance(AC/DC); 2003-1-22 (#993851@0)

PMI only verfiy it on a random basis. If you are luckily enough to be chosen by pmi, then you may provide them with sth like transcript i guess. otherwise, just them i pass xxx course at ? time etc. Read through PMP guide, info should be there.
