本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛连讲了两天伤荷包的, 从明年开始的变化, 最后还是要给大家一点好消息, 至少我们可以看到, 我们政府的政策, 对我们的日常生活的影响是有多重要.
这个好消息就是: <Canada Labour Code> 修订了, 从2016年1月开始, Compassionate Care Leave 将从现在的6 weeks 提高到 26 weeks, federally regulated employees 可以到28 weeks.
这是非常人性和人道的变化. 这个修改是前保守党政府提出的, 现自由党政府没有撤消和否决的, 感谢两党政府, 至少在这个提案上, 做了一件好事.
很多人知道失业EI, 产假EI, 病假EI, 有一部分人, 并不知道这个Compassionate Care Leave EI.
它是什么:
“Compassionate care benefits are Employment Insurance (EI) benefits paid to people who have to be away from work temporarily to provide care or support to a family member who is gravely ill and who has a significant risk of death”.
能用上它, 其实不是什么好事, 但是, 当人们遇到了上述情况的时候, 它真的可以给在这种极度困难境遇的人, 一个很大的支持和安慰, 时间上的和经济上的.
曾经有遭遇类似困难的网友PM我, 听了ta的情况, 心都揪起来了, 当时我给ta建议了这个EI (不知ta是否申请到了, 希望ta现在情况变好), 那时只能享受6 weeks. 6 weeks 对这样的家庭是远远不够的, 现在提高到6 个月, 不能说不是一个对真正急需帮助的家庭, 非常强有力的帮助了.
在此之前, 我们一直担心自由党政府, 逢保守党政策必反, 那就真的是没有人性了, 没有一个家庭希望用上这个EI, 但是一旦需要了, 就真的是非常需要它. 好在现在已经通过了, effective January 3, 2016, 正式生效.
谁符合条件:
To be eligible for compassionate care benefits, you must be able to show that:
• your regular weekly earnings from work have decreased by more than 40 percent; and
• you have accumulated 600 insured hours of work in the last 52 weeks, or since the start of your last claim (this period is called the qualifying period).
谁是合格的家庭成员:
Who is considered a family member:
You can receive compassionate care benefits for a variety of family members—both yours and those of your spouse or common-law partner—as shown below. (具体的看下面链接里的细则)
值得特别强调的是:
“If you are unemployed and already receiving EI benefits, you can also apply for compassionate care benefits.”
最后, 有困难不怕, 关键是, 有困难的时候, 知道从哪里去寻求帮助, 才能尽可能好的渡过难关.
