Here is the position:
Fulltime Role
Downtown Toronto
Maintenance and creation of OS/390 DB2 development databases. Logical data
modelling using ERwin, Physical database design, creation of test databases.
Support for S&A developers during all phases up to production implementation, and
ad hoc DB2 support. Documentation of models, design and implementation
instructions. Designing for performance. Adhere to naming/delivery standards.
Rationalization of data requirements. Delivery of database components to
production group.
Delivery of related documentation (Logical model , Physical model and
Implementation document)
First line support for implementations and other events where requested. Second
line support for ongoing production. Evaluate\trial Vendor software Volumetrics
and capacity planning
Key requirements: knowledge of DB2 for OS/390, SQL, prior programming experience,
Logical modelling and experience with access paths.
Experience with DB2 for OS/390 and other RDBMS (DB2 Aix, Oracle, Sybase..)
MVS, TSO, QMF, Windows, Control Center, Internet, ISPW, SQL, Data modelling,
Physical DB design, ISPF, BMC Catalog Manager and BMC Change manager, Omegamon
for DB2, Visual explain, Unix experience,DB2 Connect experience, knowledge of
Data warehousing and star schema
Interface with vendors, e.g. BMC, IBM
