I am now making gross 120000/y for the store, people at same position are paid 45% with benefit, but mine is muchhhh.....lower,that is really sucks, that's why I am leaving.

Now here are two guys who want to bulit a whole new pet supply store(the style is unique in Canada, it's been proved successful in the State, we provide much cheaper but same quality service and product), the idea match mine so well, acturally, I am thinking of haveing one when I have enough money and experience. They even say that if the first store is successful, they will open the second and I will be incharge the whole store.

They want me to take care two of their departement -doggie day care and grooming, they are now asking a 50% split of gross income, which is not bad for the industry, but they are new, I have to built up all customers, which means even we are successful, I make very little at the first 6 months, after that, the sky, the limit, if we failed, then I probably waste a whole one year, and the customer I bring in will benefit their retail business a lot, so ofcourse I want to be pay as much as possible. But they are only small business, they will be paying incredible high rent for the place, if I ask too much, it will probably scare them, if they lost too much money at my department at the first year, they probably have to shut down the place because they don't have the money to continue.

Because they wont hire too many people at the beginning, it is hard to provide any benefit(it's a group insurance issue), so I am thinking 60% split, but I am not sure.....更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net

        • 按照你说的情况,确实需要仔细考虑。既然你知道这里的普遍行规,那么,我觉得你应该讨论一个稍微长期的合同,比如头一年xx%,达到目标的话,下年xx%,开始可以按照行规来。
          以后再长,但一定保证这个条件写进合同里去,不要他们口头同意就算。

          因为这也是你自己喜欢的发展方向,所以,可以考虑刚开始不要太高,先保证自己得到这个位置。

          隔行如隔山,我不知道自己的意见是否合适?

          you've given a full picture. I guess you may share some of your thoughts frankly with them; Or you may consider asking a contingent commission by accepting a lower basic one, i.e. you may accept 50%, however, negiotiate extra ponits, say, 5% or 10% as a rewards/bonus (whatever you call it), if your overall revenue or profit is above a certain level. I guess this is fair for both parties, especially the one new to the market.
    • contractor hour rate X 70% = permanent hour rate. 50k permanent salary = 72k contractor salary or $35.7/hour .

    • contractor虽然没有benefit,但:大家都还年轻,benefit还起不了太大作用;很多费用,比如牙医,按摩,如果你付现金,价格可以降低很多,花费不是特大;从省税的角度看,特别是把收入分给家人后基本不上税
      即使同样收入总额,contractor剩下的现金可要多很多。我做过1年contractor,比现在permanent工资还略低,但银行存款增加很快啊。如果不是经济形势不好,我宁愿做contractor。

    • thanks all of you, I will make sure every thing is on paper, they post the adv 3 months ago, I am the only one reply them,
      no competitor. Making my price resonable so both of us can make money and convince them it is reasonable price are very important. actually, I never worried about of getting laied off if I can make same gross in come as now and the store keep running. It's very hard to find a groomer, you have to spend at least 3 months to get one, but unfortuantely, we don't get pay very good until you have your own shop.
      • 注册个有限公司,是你的第一步。然后再考虑用公司的名义租车什么的。。。
        • 不必有限公司,费用高。self-employed 都可,车的话租车一个月最多列支700刀。
          • 自己承担的风险大,尤其有了自己的店以后。
