I have sent everyone an email. I assume all of you possess basic job search skills, but still like to offer you a small tip:

I would not recommend "carpet style" mailing. A resume with no specific focus, not addressed to the person in charge may soon end up in recycle bin. The better approach is to call each company first to find out what the company does and whom you shall address to. Many people are afraid of making cold phone calls because of their poor spoken English skills. Unfortunately, this is the skill that you have to possess to succeed in job search. If you are afraid of talking to a secretary, how would you be able to convince the employer at the interview?

You may fail many of those cold calls. But with each practice, you are one step closer to landing a job.

    • Please be specific. What kind of programm? C++, Java, Oracle, SAS...? There are so many. I started with marketing research company.
There are about 200 such companies in Toronto alone. They all deal with numbers every day. The pay is about $25k to $30k. The salary is considered lower for a university graduate. So, people merely treat this as a training camp to gain experience. Staff turn over rate is very high. You may want try your luck there.
