本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛I had been working happily in Canada for about 7 years until I changed my job four years ago to a new company where office politics was very "popular". One lesson I learned is you need to fight back to establish your position in such an environment. Otherwise, you will lose the respect from others and you will be forced to leave sooner or later. I did fight back at the very end and resigned next day. However, even in the last (also the only) battle, I still gave my rival (including my manager) some "face", and this won me the respect from my manger's boss, who arranged a big farewell party for me. However, looking backwwards, I should fight earlier and that would stop any future battles at all.
This reminds me of the Korean War, had China not fought with US in 1950s, China would not be what it is now. Sometimes, even if you may lose (such as your English, your mis-understanding etc) the battle, it is still worth the fight so long as you believe you are badly / unfarily treated.
