本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Maintainance! Maintainance! The car will treat you in the same way you treat it. A brand new car needs ~$200/YR, A 10 year car needs ~$500-800/yr for maintainnace. If you don't spend money, the car will pain. Many people (especially Chinese) don't maintain their cars. So, they want to sell them in 3~5 years. Never never buy a used car without seeing the maintainance records. Many cars are abused. When I bought my car, there was another 1988 Honda Accord and a 1995 Toyoto corolla at similar price( US$2000-3000). But they were obviously abused, like an abused child, coughing and trembling. (I simply have no confidence in maintaining them as a good car). My car has a very clear history. My previous owner spent US$2000 on it within the last 5 years! He was spending money on it in the same month he was selling it. He asked for $2400 (kelly bbk says $1400), I think his price was not unreasonable.
However, for an abused car, if the seller is honest about the abusing. You can still but it. But the abusing should be included in the price. This year I helped my friend buying a 1990 Camry(kelly price $3300), at only US $2000. But immediately after buying, the car eated him another $1000
as we expected. So, if you buy a 1992 car at $5000, be prepared either that it will eat you another $1000-2000, or try to sell it within 3 years --- why? because I bet that you won't maintain it! That's how most Chinese are doing on their cars!!!!更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
