Michael Douglas 在 华尔街 (Wall Street)中扮演的 Gordon Gecko. 至今，Gordon Gecko 在影片中的一句话一直被众多IBanker 1st year associate 所津津乐道："Greed is good". 但是电影是电影，The roles Richard Gere and Michael Douglas played in the movies were actually Private Equity guys than the Investment Bankers.
Investment bankers 帮助企业在资本市场中融资。用北京话说就是二道贩子。银行虽会为企业贷款，但是贷款是资本市场最不赚钱的一种为企业融资的方式。对于资本市场的投行家来说，他们最主要的任务不是用自己银行的资金来为企业融资，而是帮助企业招投资人。那这些投资人是谁呢？ 主要是以下几类：
1.pension funds
2.mutual funds
3.institutional investors
4.insurance companies
5.wealthy individuals
6.individual investors and you and me.
投行家的真正任务是作为一个中间商（二道贩子）把要钱的企业介绍给有钱的投资人，并在这个过程中融资.
融资的方式有各种各样。equity capital, debt capital etc. 银行自己的资金，loans.
负责贷款的banker叫做corporate bankers.
