本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛1) For first one, I did read some articles. But I need to do research. One number shocked me and I still remember. The national loan (Guo Ku Juan) has possessed 40% of income now.
Another data: In order to help banks to improve their financial situation, each of the 4 banks get a big granted money from central bank (I cannot remember the number). This happened a few years ago. I'm not sure if it happens again.
All above money are actually newly printed "money".
With more money on the market, and people dare not spend their deposit in bank, then it will give people a fake feeling of rich.
BTW, I never trust any statistics report from china government, including its inflation report.
2) If for a person only going back for a few years' gold rush, he does not care that much about this country's future and 经济政治开放 and safey. I heard some friends planned to go to Iraq to make money. There're big money and big risk there.
So may I asked you a question: how long you plan to live in china? Did you get your canadian passport? If yes, why you have to wait until you get passport?
3) The cost has become high enough to change some behaviors.
- Some private owner of factories in my hometown only hire people from inner china. They don't like to hire from local residents.
- Because the manufactoring in china are lower-end products. It heavily relies on the cheap price. During last year, because the RMB is 5% higher. Most of the foreign traders which are the major business in my hometown have negative profit. What they're doing is to use bad quality material instead. It will hurt in long run. So the human resource cost goes up 50% is a problem.
- Besides salary, the cost to handle the officers and business partners are very high.
- From IT, many foreign companies are moving their development centers into Xi'an and Chendu. They feel the cost in BJ, SH, GZ, SZ are too high. One is salary, another is the office rental. Only sales office and part of technical support center will finally be left there. My former colleagues in IBM has relocated from SZ to chendu as a manager to train people there. There's a big office. And many jobs in GZ and SZ have been moved there. He got a choice to be a manager permanently in Chendu or going back to SZ as a high income employee. But his original team is shrinking.
- So as a Haigui, I think you guys might need to prepare for working in Chendu or XI'an in near future.
4) Service
I know these service businesses in china. But if you're a loyal person to your family, you should not be that exciting about that. What you gained means loss in another side.
I feel quite comfortable with service in canada. For all the services I needed, it's good enough. The best one I ever enjoyed are govenment, police, and hospital. Someone compained about the service of canada's hospitals. But the whole family of mine had great feeling about it. I used emergency once early this year. It's still very good.
My wife used hospital in BJ. It makes her never want to live in BJ again.
China's service improved a lot. It finally reallized that sometimes, customers want to be left alone. We don't need any services. For example, when I'm shopping arround in the fashion store. I don't need anyone to introduce me all these expensive stuff.
One tiny thing can tell you the major difference of the service between china and canada.
When I arrived at Shanghai Pudong airport, I cannot get a pay phone to call. I have to buy a $50 card even I only need to call a local number. The good thing is I can keep use this card anywhere in other cities. But actually I lost it a few days later.
When I took the airport shuttle bus to arrive at airport for departure. It parked at a place too far away from the free lugguage cart. However, there's a desk with 2 ladies nearby. They will sell you a luggage cart for $10. Though there's free lugguage cart in the airport.
In canada, it used to be free lugguage cart. Now we have to pay 2 dollors. It tells you the rule has changed and we have to accepte it.
Again, I feel services in china have improved a lot, especially some services of government.
5) I think you feel canada is a boring place. To some extent, you're right. But it does not mean the most exciting busy city is the best one. NYC is the city pretty like HK and SH with all these exciting stuff. But I would only pick it for a few years gold rush too. It's not an ideal place for living.
On the contrary, Silicon Valley is good, though the real estate is too high. But it's a good place for living and career. But it's a boring place from most of chinese point of view. Even more boring than toronto.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
