本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛I am lobbying the Bonnie Associate to open a course for Chinese professionals
The president is considering it. If you take a reference of my old post, you will
find its reguliar pricing is almost crazy for most of us. But I am persuading them
to lower the price by enlarging the class and adapting some technichs of mass
education as those IT schools do.
I am a vivid example who has really benefited from the course. However, the course
is too expensive. Well, don't think I am adversting for them. I am only a student
who really thinks it is effective.
The problem for Bonnie to enter Chinese group is to find enough student for a class
so the price could be cheap enough for us to accpet. I am volunteering to the
project to help Bonnie's to enter the Chinese group in Toronto.
Meanwhile, if it is urgent for you, you can contact IBM Canada. IBM Canada global
campus has a series of English courses for IBM professionals. Of course the price
is just as much as I said before. The course in IBM are also delivered by Bonnie's
Associates. I am positively saying that their level is up to the world class, because
they are not only teachers, but speach experts and scientists.
For many, it is always months later to realize that LINK or ESL is wasting time and
For more, it is sometimes too late to realize English ability is even more important
than technich.
I posted a reply which some friend thinks I am prejudise toward our fellow who
speaks weaker English. That is wrong. I am still struggling with English even till
today. I only want to tell the truth that for us, the second language speakers to
live in Canada, prejudise is still there. And if we have problem with English,
the problem can only be severer.
One of my most frequent declarance to my fellow is
" For every money you invested in your clothing, life will return you 100 times more".
And I usually add a line of explaination " here clothing is decoration which includes
language and apparence".
Upon read my post, please give suggestions to me such as
* how much the tuition a student would be able and willing to pay
* how can the Associates get connect with our Chinese community
Some friends may want to share different opinions. They are welcome. But please do
not make personal comments. I am volunteering for a project which will benefit us.
The warm heart can sometimes be damaged by cruel critise. Thanks.
P.S. Frequent Mistakes We Chinese Like to Make
1. Too much "just"
----- if you can't avoid, use "only". Then you will hate both of them
2. Too much " this(that) kind of "
----- use "this" or "the"
3. Too much "the"
----- if you are not sure, don't use it
4. Use "how to" instead of " how do you"
------ "how do you" is correct
5. Wrong pronunciation of "l", "r", "th", "n"
------ ???
