Though they were not convinced when I told them I brought a fortuneteller there. Impressed by his handsome look, the earliest bird got a chance to ask for the future. In his 3 minutes analyses, he showed his mysterious talents of reading the exact person out. It surprised us, so others lined up for more trials. Even the conservative girl was convinced. He had told us his perspective of each of us. But he refused to read mine. Later I asked him what the magic was. He significantly sighed, “ Reading them is easy. When I came to your dorm, in the first five minutes, I quickly look around each person and the environment like bedding, decoration around. From their posture and look, I know if they are open or shy, confident or diffident…even more I notice trifle and details, which you cannot see. But you are the most difficult whom I was afraid of reading…Anyway; I can see one girl is not happy with you. Be careful of her. Others are nice.” This fortuneteller was also afraid of reading himself. I knew we were very similar with stubborn self-admiration and sensitive spirits. But I was more like a sword hiding my tartness. He was like a loaded gun facing any danger. In one word, he was too aggressive and combative. Though he never told my future, he gave me too much treasure I never could repay. And I fled with pain and best wishes.
The second fortuneteller I met was a stranger. When my hubby and I visited my brother in NanJing, my sister-in-law brought him to us. It was 1997, with surprise, he told us we would go abroad before 2000. Though in that time, we had no clue how to go abroad. Only in later 1998, we knew some friends immigrated to Canada. Then we had our plan set up. And in that interview, he also told me a funny thing. He said my hand was very rare only LiPeng had the same pattern. Ha, surely I laughed at him, how could he know LiPeng’s hand? Though I had no way to prove his words for the hand, others all came true.
Later when I came to Canada, I met a lot of people. And they all said I would have good luck here. Though they were not fortunetellers, I appreciated their encourage and best wishes. Indeed I was lucky with good timing and good opportunity. And in a party launched in my house, we were gathering and chatting the future. Some new comers were very upset, since they thought they missed the good chance and timing. I said something like this, “do not worry, 十年河东十年河西，fortune will turn…” Because in my experience, life is so unpredicted. With up and down, optimism and courage is the key of your fortune.
