I've been unemployed almost a year now and I really need a job. I live in
downtown Hull and I did find a few months of work deploying PC's for Nortel.
My dad just retired from the Public Service and I've been a real drain on him
and I really need to find a job so that I can stop; I hope no other PSC
employee goes through what my dad is going through, just because he isn't one
of the sneaky ones that manages to find his son a cushy job like some people
I've worked with. I'll save all of that for my book which I'm writing in the
meantime.
Lately I've been doing PHP4 and MySQL work and let me tell you, why pay all
of
those taxpayer dollars to Microsoft when you can be MORE PRODUCTIVE and SAVE
MONEY? I've implemented an entire online casino suite including poker, keno,
slots, and blackjack in 15,000 lines of code and in under 4 months all by
myself. I couldn't have done it using Microsoft technologies, that's for
sure. Now if I could get my 15% Mohawk status recognized I might not have to
pay the $5000 fee to apply for a gaming license to have it hosted at Mohawk
Nations.
I've worked on some top-notch award-winning Web sites including ALLSTATE.COM
and I have been doing computers for more than 10 years so although I don't
have one of those fancy degrees, I've been to the school of hard knocks and
hope that the people realizing this understand the time and resource
expenditures I can save with my experience, so they too don't end up in the
school of hard knocks.
Now I don't have a telephone because I'm on welfare and can't afford one, but
I check my e-mail regularly and can make myself available with some notice.
I am usually able to get back to a person within a day or two. There is of
course nothing stopping anyone from coming to my door and interviewing me at
home. My cat just had 6 kittens on Feb.1 (a day of disaster for others) and
you can even take one home with you if you wish.
My family and I have contributed to this country for a very long time and
have
never milked it the way I've seen some so if anyone out there has any decency
then would you please forward my resume to anyone you could think of who may
need a good, rational-minded, all-purpose computer programmer.
