i read this just from TV, i try to sum them up here:
1. Over 5 ys alreadly in CA, 65.5% got job, half of them work in non-profession lines.
82% for the CA-born
2. severe shortages in Nurse, Cop, Fire Fighter, Electrician, Plumber, mechanician, but few immigrants stepped into these fields.
especially, in Ontario 1/3 of nurses are over 50 year old, and 15,000 of them are retiring in 2 ys. in contrast, only 1,800 new bloods pre year get out of nursing training.
so CA is taking actions to attract oversea nurses to CA [like what did for IT 2ys ago], and prompting a CARE plan to retrain immigrants who did nursing before [so far 250 people have joined, and 90 of them have been registered nurses].
[relative serial reports can be read from "canada job market trend" in this forum, search "author=jps"]
