Some people say if comparing both UK and Canada to a millionaire, then UK is a millionaire who was born with wealth, but Canada is the one became a millionaire from one night. I don’t agree. I miss UK, besides lyric sceneries and mild winter; I like the British humour, the atmosphere in pubs, and most men’s gentle style even in front of a strange woman. I like the British way to say hello: “are you alright?” However, I don’t like their attitudes when British talk about other nations. Most British don’t like French who has been hostile to them more than a century, most British don’t like American, the reason is “ we give them the language, but the Americans don’t know how to use it properly, why do they call trousers pants? Pants are our under wears. And why do they call a toilet a bathroom, do you go to toilet each time for a bath? Ridiculous Americans….” Such remarks you can easily hear when you talk to a British. Who knows how do they talk about Chinese without our knowledge? UK is a very polite country; ‘sorry’ and ‘thank you’ are the two most frequent use words daily, but it doesn’t mean they don’t have prejudice.
Being a Chinese, I feel very convenient living in Canada, food, cloth or other consuming levels are quite similar. Winter is winter, summer is summer in Canada, but in UK winter likes summer, summer likes winter. Sorry for not being able to type Chinese characters, have to stop here.
